on the home page, there's a rotating ad banner on the right side about halfway down. there's usually a variety of ads on there.. could be for adobe, vonage, weight watchers, or any number of companies. since larry probably won't say anything, i'll be the one to say it: when you visit the homepage, please click on the banner ONCE per day. it takes two seconds to do it and really makes a difference in terms of offsetting the costs for him. thanks Smile

I've asked about this a couple of times. We do the same thing for our Packers sites and I've been clicking on these ads as well for a while and will continue to do so.

I have been doing that. Didn't join Weight Watchers, but I did buy some of their ice cream. Smile

I looked at the latest numbers on the banner and just wanted people to know they should click it once per day and not just "once" in their lifetime, because the click-thrus have gone down in the last two weeks. The forum is free for a reason......... clicking the banner helps ensure that it remains that way. If you want to support the website and the work that larry does, then clicking the ad banner is the best way to show that.

Someone's got to remember to reply to this post every day. When I see this lit up as a thread with new posts, it reminds me to click on the ad. If there are no new posts, I forget to click some days. It's not that I don't want to. It's that sometimes I'm really busy, and I'm just reading through new posts quickly, so I'm not even paying attention to any of the other threads. If we all just try to post to this thread when we do remember, it'll stay active and be more of a reminder.

I don't know what else to do except keep it as an 'announcement' at the top of the forum. I understand about being busy, but it really just takes 5 seconds of anyone's time and helps offset alot of the costs that he has.

Like I said Grom, it's not the time. It's remembering to do it which doesn't happen sometimes even if it is up top with a "sticky." That's why I'm saying if some of us notice this thread hasn't been replied to, then we need to make a reply even if it's just a "bump" because when it's lit up as having a new post, it makes it easier to notice it and remember to click. We all can help by doing that as well.
